Debbie Moore
b. 1987
Debbie's work is based on the figure and self portraits. The way she portrays herself on the canvas is emotional rather than physical. Through her application of paint she explores ways in which to emotionally distort the figure. The self portraits are subjective marks depending on feelings. These marks are then used to work up the figure. Debbie doesn’t want to capture the structure of the face but rather the emotion behind it. These emotions are linked to personal memories and experiences which have had a profound effect on her life and the people in her life. Her paintings are almost like a diary of herself and her life.
